about

This is a duet with pianist Jeff Hufnagle. Recorded live at Renaissance Auditorium at the Dayton Art Institute on Sunday February 27, 2011.
Jeff is one of the best musicians in Dayton, Ohio USA. I have taken a couple of composition lessons with him. Many of my songs are influenced a lot by Jeff including "Look For Hope", "Winter Nights", and "Lost Time". He has also recorded with me in the past and has allowed me to post my recordings of his songs "Until Tomorrow Comes", "Echos Of Something Else", & "How Autumn?".

The solo introduction was taught to me by my teacher Lloyd Hazlebaker when I was 12 years old. I have added a lot to it over the years. After the introduction, Jeff joins in as I play the melody. I play the 1st solo, then Jeff plays the 2nd solo, and then I restate the melody. At the end I go back & quote the intro again.

We had a lot of fun playing that afternoon. I'm really glad that I had Jeff Hufnagle to accompany me!
Jeff suffered a stroke shortly after this concert. He was without medical attention for over 30 hours & lost the use of the left side of his body. Jeff is in therpy to recover. I pray that someday I will be able to have him play on stage with me again.

Peace,
James Murrell
