about

"Nardis (With David Cousino, Shawn Stanley, & Erik Aylesworth)" was recorded at McCutcheon Music on November 14th, 2011. We recorded the song live with no overdubs. David Cousino played Guitar (right side), Shawn Stanley played Bass, Eric Aylesworth played Drums, & I (James Murrell) played Guitar (left side). The whole band wrote the arrangement on the spot. My brother Joe Murrell assisted in mixing the song. It is the 9th song that I have completed for my new album "Jazz Tent Revival".

"Nardis" was written by Miles Davis although he never recorded the song. Miles' friend & pianist Bill Evans made "Nardis" famous. Many people speculate that Bill actually wrote "Nardis" but Bill said that Miles wrote it so I believe Miles did write "Nardis". Anyhow, "Nardis" is a great tune & probaly my favorite jazz tune to play in concert.

I hope that you will enjoy listening to "Nardis (With David Cousino, Shawn Stanley, & Erik Aylesworth)"!

Peace,

James Murrell
